When we called VRBO (very difficult from abroad) they said this was a false listing (my daughter had to do this in the states as it was too difficult form afar). We eventually was reimbursed but we had to scramble to find a new place late a night on our own."

"Beautifully designed and appointed; Casa Malaga feels like a luxury suite at a fine hotel. the grounds are gorgeous and there is a pharmacy and convenience store a block away; and Bacalar Town square is 5 blocks away, lagoon beach clubs and restaurant about 6 blocks away. "

"It was a nice quiet location up in town. The layout was nice with a nice cool breeze. The property manager lives nearby and was very attentive. Stores for basic necessities are close by but beach is a distance; car or bicycle is necessary. No potable water or means to light stove provided; base for water dispenser there but needed to buy garafone to use. Water sellers ride by the house beeping their horn several times a day so it is easy to get and matches can be found at store 2 blocks down the...

"The property was great and very secure. The beds were very comfortable. Could have used a bath mat of some kind sort to step out of the shower on. We also could have used more towels for 3 women for 5 nights(4) wasn’t enough. There were no beach towels provided. Had to ask for bottled water and trash bags as there wasn’t any.
