"Exactly as booked - breakfast was very good: Continental included full breakfast. Breakfast was crowded, but great food options that they kept stocked. Pool was closed (but at this time of year, we didn't expect to swim in any case). Area is congested, but we knew that and picked for it's convenience/access. Checkin / out was effortless and parking included and sufficient. Two floors so no elevator but staff were great at making sure Sr. traveling with us in one of our two rooms was on first floor. Though pricey, all options are these days: and this was good value."

"The Fairmont is a strikingly beautiful building, steeped in history. It’s quirky and unique, which may not be to everyone’s taste - but we love such features and treat them as part of the experience. The pool for example is deep in the bowels of the property - it’s older but has an imposing air of refinement about it. I’d love to see the original features maintained and working (fountains, health lamps etc). Do your research, this hotel may not be for you, but it is for us - staff are exemplary and location is second to none. Make sure you take the complimentary BMW bicycles out for a few hours if exploration"
