"Nice spot for a night. Enjoyed the pool and paddle board. You need to carry it across the street and down to the entry area (and it may have wake so sitting or kneeling might be better than standing). This is more motel and basic accommodations, but the service is very friendly and each booking removes trash from the island and helps local organizations. Location is good especially if you have a car to explore around Hilo proper. You’re not far from the airport so you may occasionally hear planes loudly over the hotel. I only noticed 3 so they didn’t wake me up (or maybe they don’t fly often during the night)."

"We love staying at this home. We have stayed at this home both times we traveled to the Big Island. It has an incredible view and is always well maintained. Jennifer was in contact with us before and during our stay to make certain we had everything we needed. The home is located in a quieter area near the town of Pahoa. It makes it even more enjoyable being less busy and able to enjoy the coastline from this quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend staying at this home when visiting the Big Island especially while on the East side. "

"Place was amazing, it was quite, except for the frogs at night, but they didn't bother me at all. There is no AC , but with the fans on and windows open it was fine. Love the lanai, I was able to just sit out there for breakfasts and dinner and enjoy the ocean view, the breeze, and the chickens. The only thing is I wish there were more hooks in the bathroom and a night stand in the bedroom with the twin beds. I had no where to put my things and I usually have a cup of water near me at night. The bedrooms were big with enough closet space. The place is only close to an hour drive to the National Park and close to half hour drive to Hilo. So it wasn't far to do the things I wanted."

"This house is out there. If you are curious about what living off grid would be like, this is a chance to experiment. The walk out to the cliff to see the ocean was amazing. We were able to explore Volcanoes NP from here and the surrounding towns. The night sky is amazing."
