OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
This in-town estate home features stunning mountain views, a gorgeous free form pool with integrated waterfall spa and a poolside living pavilion with al fresco dining space and an outdoor living room. You’ll also find an additional outdoor lounge centered on a custom fire feature. There are fruit trees, rolling green lawns, a bocce ball court, and a hard-lined barbecue station - so you’ll never have to worry about the tank running out. Shade umbrellas and chaise lounges dot the perimeter of the pool offering the perfect combination of full sun and shaded areas. There is something very special about Lions Gate Estate. It is the type of desert paradise guests return to year after year.

INDOOR LIVING SPACES
There is an easy elegance about this home. Impressive high-style design meets laid back and livable chic. Soothing color palette, comfortable designer furnishings, beautiful Hollywood-inspired artwork, six flat screen televisions and a media room created for hours of binge-watching pleasure. At the center of it all is the huge open entertaining area with 9 foot ceilings, a billiard room with its own huge flat screen television, sleek contemporary interior dining (seats 10-12) and a well-stocked chef’s kitchen that has been carefully space planned for group meal prep. This is the perfect holiday home - well suited for long weekends, week-long stays, by the month or by the season.

SLEEPING QUARTERS
Like a specialty boutique hotel, all four sleeping quarters are beautifully decorated, feature hospitality-quality mattresses, flat screen televisions, and ample storage. The South Wing is spectacular - featuring three King Master Suites - each with a private en suite bath. On the north wing is the fourth master bedroom suite. It has direct pool access, a private en suite bath , and a walk in closet. One of the bedroom suites offers flexible sleeping arrangements - you can choose between having the room set ups as a king or two extra long twins.

THE LOCATION
Lions Gate Estate is centrally located in the heart of Palm Springs just one block from Ruth Hardy Park -- and less than a half mile from the world famous Palm Canyon Drive as it cuts through the Uptown Design District. Casual eateries, fine dining, coffee spots, art galleries and specialty boutiques are all within walking distance. The Convention Center, The Casino and the public tennis courts are also very close by. You'll be just minutes from movie theaters, museums, and live performance venue. Great House

Palm Springs Christmas Vacation
This home is absolutely beautiful!! We loved the house, pool and hot tub!!! Also the short walk to the town and all the great restaurants and stores worked well for us. Would love to rent this home again, for sure!! Also the area is nice and quiet... no loud parties at night.

Winter get away
Great property for our group escaping winter. Very clean and spacious; all bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and plenty of room to spread out. Fabulous yard with pool, hot tub, fire pit and bocce ball court. We were very comfortable at the Lions Gate Estate.

The kitchen was well equipped for our gourmet cook friend who loves cooking! Close to Ruth Hardy Park if we had brought a dog. The hot tub and pool were enjoyed every day. So great!

Great Family Trip
The wonderful property was perfect for our family trip with our adult children and their spouses. It was very convenient for each couple to have their own bathroom in this four bed/four bath home. We spent most of our time in the beautiful yard and private pool. The house is very well maintained and well equipped with all the amenities we needed. The property is managed very well and checkin/checkout was very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Movie Colony area property
Our group visits Palm Springs a couple of times each year, always staying in a different property. We have wanted to rent Lions Gate on other occasions but it was not available. We were happy to rent it for this trip, and we were not disappointed. Most of the homes we rent are managed by the company that manages Lions Gate and we are always impressed with their attention to detail and customer care.

Great Place, Questionable Property Management
My only issue with the property was the ACME property management team. They tried to pull a fast one on me with a charge heating the pool. I received a note about an incremental fee to heat the pool - WHICH WAS NOT ON THE LISTING. I told them they were in error and they disputed it. Fortunately I still had the original listing on an open window on my laptop. I took screengrabs and opened a case with VRBO - to show there was no explanation of a fee to heat the pool when I booked. They updated the listing, and then told me they had not. My case was escalated at VRBO and the VRBO case manager was able to speak with management at ACME. I was faced with a decision to pay "only $12" to heat the pool because they gave me a general discount on the rental or escalate the case and hope VRBO sees it my way. If I lost, then I would have paid for a rental I didn't use. So I took the $12 charge and stayed at the house. It was shady. The house was fine. But, I am still anxious I'll find some ridiculous cleaning charge to recover the pool heating fee. Again, house was fine. ACME, on the other hand, was not.

A different place to shelter
So our goal was to find someplace our family could shelter-in-place safely and just have fun. Lion's gate was it! Located in the heart of the Movie Colony, the house is decorated in keeping with the retro style of the area. The pool was the perfect place for all of us (including our labradoodle Coco) to float, enjoy a beverage and forget about the stresses of the past few months. The overhang from the patio roof provided the perfect amount of shade onto the pool so we weren't in full sun all of the time. The property is entirely surrounded by a wall and greenery, including a gated driveway. It felt wonderfully private! The landscaping was a lovely backdrop and was just the right amount of space for Coco to play and explore. We hit a few snags during our week -- ants in the kitchen and pantry, and a broken air-con circulator in half of the house -- but the Property Manager Camille was quickly responsive and sensitive to our concerns about having people enter the house. The TVs were a bit frustrating to figure out at times, but there's a great selection of programming (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, etc.) so once you landed on a program all was good. The kitchen was well stocked, although with the ant issue it would have been nice to have a few more plastic containers. Loved having sun umbrellas and chairs to lounge on, but the umbrellas could use an update and heavier bottoms. With the slightest breeze the umbrellas would topple over and have obviously sustained some damage. But let's end on the high note that this property deserves! We had a great time playing pool, bocce ball and scrabble (look under the bar for the games). My daughters felt as if they were each in their own hotel suite since each bedroom had its own bath and TV! All of the beds were incredibly comfortable, towels were white and fluffy, and the rooms were wonderfully spacious. The week was everything we hoped for and we're already talking about another trip back. If you're looking for a clean, fun home to spend some time in with either a family or a few friends, pick Lion's Gate! Thanks Camille for being so wonderfully responsive and helpful!

Unfortunately, our flight to PS were cancelled
Our flights to PS were cancelled and were re-booked to the day we were supposed to depart PS so we never got to see the property. Rated everything 3 as the system forced me to provide one and I have no idea what it was really like.

Overall - very good with a caveat or two…
The check in process and house management made everything very easy. The house is dated and showing it’s age. The exterior windows were very dirty but the interior was excellent. All in all it is a very comfortable home.

Great property, great location
The property was a great fit to our group of eight adults. The kitchen was well equipped, and we prepared big dinners there every night of our stay. The pool, hot tub, fire pit and even the bocce ball court got plenty of use. It was close enough to good restaurants and the local park to walk, but not so close that foot traffic or road traffic intruded.

Memorable time in Palm Springs
Lions Gate Estate was exactly as described. The close proximity to shopping and restaurants made for a very relaxing trip. We walked into town a multiple times for coffees, shopping, etc.. The billiard table, bocce ball and pool/hot tub allowed everyone to have fun while at the house. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were a nice size. The kitchen had plenty of plates and silverware for our party of eight. It was a perfect stay for our family. Acme house was great to work with. There was one little hiccup and they handled it quickly and professionally. Their staff was top notch. We highly recommend this house and Acme House Company

It’s a terrific house. Rooms are larger than we imagined. House is very well supplied — from kitchen to towels, etc. House managers were incredibly professional and responsive. One suggestion: put area rugs under the pool table and the dining room table to reduce noise levels in kitchen area.

We celebrated my 50th birthday at Lion's Gate. We loved the pool, enjoyed making delicious meals and eating them in the beautiful dining room and outdoor area. We had 4 adult couples and we all had our own space with our own suites. The short walk to the town was lovely as well.

Practically Perfect

Incredible in every way possible
It's hard to find something that has not been mentioned previously in what a fabulous stay we had. House was exactly as described, if not better. From pre-arrival information to check in to lounging, relaxing, napping, grilling, etc by the pool in a secluded backyard. To some of the quietest and peaceful nights we have ever experienced on vacation. Loved the neighborhood. Ran several miles every morning in different directions trying to spot as many celebrities homes Enjoyed nighttime walks to downtown (fortunately the weather broke midweek and the evenings got cooler) Would certainly stay again.

Nice, clean home, great location
The house was beautiful, clean, well taken care of, and very private. All of the bedrooms were huge and having private bathrooms in all of them was very convenient. The location was excellent - close to the airport and only a few blocks from lots of restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly and responsive to any questions and concerns. My biggest complaint would be the noise restrictions. We weren’t throwing a party or anything crazy, we just like to have some background music. But we were told we could not have any music playing outside or we would risk a fine and eviction. Other than that, we had to be careful about leaving food out otherwise it’d be swarming with ants and the igniter on the stove was malfunctioning. Minor issues though. Overall a great house as long as you don’t mind keeping the noise down outside.

We want to come back!
We loved how private this house was and the location was perfect! We had a few minor issues ( air conditioner stopped working, and we blew a fuse), but both issues were handled immediately. There were technicians at our house within 15 minutes of our call in both instances. The only negative about the house was that the bathrooms were extremely outdated. I would recommend updating all of the fixtures ASAP.

Three Generation Retreat
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Happy to return to our tradition of a family trip to the desert! It's quick road trip from our home, and we have been to Palm Springs dozens of times in our lifetime. We love Palm Springs, and are so excited to see the vibrant development and redevelopment taking place. So many great restaurants, places to shop, and cultural experiences. Staying in the Movie Colony was ideal for us. It's old Palm Springs charm and location is perfect. This estate sits on a big private lot. The house is large, and there is room and privacy for all. We chose it for the four king-size en suite bedrooms. We have grown kids, and a grandson. The furnishings are nice, the beds are comfy. We let the management know that the kitchen was great, but the supplies needed to be reviewed - it seemed like it was less than ideal. I'm certain they'll be able to fix that quite easily.We had a couple minor challenges during the week, and ACME was very responsive and professional.The pool gets plenty of sun in the mornings, and its starts to get shady in the afterno0 - which we liked. We played Bocce Ball, and enjoyed the firepit in the evenings. I'm not sure if it was allowed - but we certainly enjoyed the beautiful grapefruit from the tree out front.
