"We chose this property based on reviews, affordability and lovely decor! I am so glad we did. There are many perks to staying here..it may seem remote at first, but it is conveniently located to both sides of the island for day trips. Also, you have all you need in this home for cooking meals. The space is appointed wonderfully with seating and places to relax inside/outside. It is so lovely here. We happen to meet our host a few days in..and wish we met her sooner! I mean..this home is a little piece of heaven. You won't be disappointed. "

"Tranquility, walking distance to the Black Sand beach. Clean, washer and dryer was very convenient. The bed and pillows were amazing! Front desk very friendly and accommodating. Love this place, hope to come back again. "

"Very quiet location the host was very flexible and responsive. There is no kitchen but bbq has a burner on the side. And the yurt came with all the pots and pans you would need. The yurt it self if very spacious the sky light offers great star gazing from your bed and nice natural light in the day. It is not to far of a drive from amazing attraction like black sand beach and volcano national park. I especially loved the dogs and the cats roaming the property. Wonderful glamping 10/10"

"When we booked at Kuleana Ranch, little did we realize that in addition to the compact cottage, we would get the huge property around the cottage for ourselves. Our mistake in staying for only two nights; we strongly recommend that future visitors should stay in this place for a minimum of three nights. There is also a large swimming pool all to yourself. Beautiful surroundings makes it imperative that you have your morning coffee in the verandah looking at the lush greenery and listening to birds. Vickie and Wesley were just a message away for any requirements. All amenities and supplies were adequate and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This cottage runs completely on Solar Power making it such an environment friendly place. We do have just one recommendation if at all possible - Place theee or four solar lamps marking the pathway to the cottage. This so because our flight got delayed by five hours and we arrived past 10 pm and it was pitch dark. However, it was a nice adventure to the beginning of our Hawaii Trip. "What a delightful find for our family of 8! Lots of room for everyone to spread out and relax between the 2 yurts. Beds and furniture were comfy, the interior lighting (esp around the inside top edge of the yurt) gave a cozy feel, and everything was spic and span clean. The deck with picnic table and shade umbrella would have been the idyllic place for us to gather while grilling and enjoying the amazing view and sweet breezes -- if we only would have had just one more night! Mahalo, John and family -- we hope to be seeing you all again soon!!"

"One of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island was our stay in Naalehu. The house is just fantastic, with 3 good-sized bedrooms and two beautifully appointed bathrooms. The open plan sitting area and kitchen was such a welcoming space compared to most hotels. The decks offer great ocean views. A perfect spot for access to black, green, and white sand beaches at the southernmost point in the United States. "

"Here you will find a home surrounded by a beautiful garden with a very large covered deck overlooking the ocean to the west. Stunning sunrises, warm breezes, and a canopy of stars and the Milky Way at night uninhibited by city lights. The home is as described, but more. Comfortable, welcoming and everything you would need. You experience a bit of the homeowners love of this island in the decor and gardens. For us, the location was ideal - away from the popular beaches, tourist shops, etc. Here you are close to The Volcanic National Park and many “gem” locations listed in travel guides. This is Kau coffee country (look up the history of the emergence of Kau coffee and Kona coffee). We enjoyed farm/fruit stands, local markets, and wonderful local places to eat and find local artist creations. The aloha spirit was so welcoming as we talked with locals. Hilo and the other side of the island is easily accessible. Go, see, experience... Hawaii, e noho mau ana oe iloko o ko'u naau a me na moeuhane. A hui hou kakou. (Translation - Hawaii, you will always be in my heart and dreams. Until we meet again. ) "
