"Main shower mixer is reversed. Hot is cold and cold is hot. I wouldn’t want to unknowingly put a small child in there and select the wrong temperature setting. "

"This property was clean, basic and all you need for a cheap stay over whilst visiting the island. The rooms are dated, and reminded me of early Mr Dirk Diggler movie sets. Though once you're inside, you have all the basic amenities including a fridge, table and chair to work from, reclining leather chairs. It was comfortable, the bed was very comfortable. The location was surprisingly quiet except the noise of nature/wildlife. It was a very pleasant stay and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Though you need to check in before 6:30pm as I believe staff leave, though they leave instructions on how to get your key after hours. The only downside was the TV didn't work during my stay, no biggie as free wifi and laptop solved that problem. I learned on checkout that I could have called reception (they do operate after 6:30pm) to have it reset. There's no breakfast here either, so finding somewhere that was open for breakfast was challenging as the island is geared towards tourism. Again, the helpful reception signposted me some possibilities where to go. So if you're travelling and on a budget, you can't go wrong with this little gem. Thank you for making my stay comfortable."

"Perfect location, beautiful views, lovely house. 3 good sized bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen, good dining area, comfortable lounge room plus bathroom, ensuite and laundry. Air conditioning cooled whole house on hot days. Liam was great host and easy to communicate with. Excellent base for our family stay in KI."

"We loved the location of Ashendens on the hilltop overlooking the beautiful turquoise waters of Penneshaw. The dolphins were regular visitors and we enjoyed watching them from the deck. My son swam peacefully with them on several occasions. The house has great facilities and the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge room is open and spacious, taking advantage of the amazing views of the ocean and mainland. The large deck was also a favourite place to enjoy the scenery and wildlife (many wallabies!). Helen, the host was very good at communicating promptly and providing information about the house."
