"Hotels near train stations are not always ok. This one was great! It was updated, bathroom and cooking area functional, equipped and clean and the hotel staff was exceptional. The hotel is actually a short walk from Gare de Lyon but there is a shortcut behind the station (where the coach busses park) that leads to the street where you can find the hotel. I had a large suitcase a satchel and it was not a difficult walk. To make things more interesting, there is an authentic "hot pot" resto...

"This was a good choice for us: inexpensive (comparatively) , clean, quite good food for evening meals, very helpful lovely staff, they didn’t mind us turning up very late on our first night, huge comfy bed, hot shower and you can regulate the temperature of the room easily. We asked for a quiet room at the back and that’s what we got but it was a quite teeny and it was a bit difficult to find places to put things (no drawers but a couple of shelves which was fine, really) V. close to Picpus...

"Hôtel du Printemps was extremely clean and quiet. Our room was quite small (as they all are in Paris) but was very comfortable with a nice bed. The staff here was very kind and helpful. The location is a short walk from the main Nation station which can get you basically anywhere. The breakfast buffet and room service were good value with quality food and drinks. We loved that this hotel wasn’t in a super touristy area and we got a little more of the authentic Paris experience. "
