My husband and I got to the front desk at 830am. The doors were locked. There was a phone by the night window. I picked up the phone and started ringing. Someone picked up maybe a minute later. I said hello good morning. The man said said how can I help u. I said hello, I need to check in early please. The man responded, why? And I said because Im on a business trip and need to get ready and go to work. He said ok ill be there in 5 minutes. While checking in and after he charged my card he said since your checking in early, that will be twenty dollars. Cash or card? I said cash since you already charged my card. He then pocketed the money. Fast forward to 4 hours later. I call my husband during my lunch that stayed in the room. He said, you know that man that checked us in? He opened our room door. He got spooked when he saw me and said, why arent you at work. My husband replied, excuse you! The man closed the door and left. We called other hotels in the area but they were all booked. With that said I do not recommend this place at all.

When I checked in the guy that helped me was trying to say I only booked the room for one person even though i showed him I booked it for two people. He tried to make me pay more but I refused to pay more when I booked it for two people the first place and he all of sudden said he’ll let two people stay.

Photos on website DO NOT represent this location. Do not stay at this place. Roaches in the bathroom and the bed. Ice maker is disgusting and the grounds are not cared for and the strange guests that appear to be living in the rooms were doing some strange things.

I was counting hours to wake up and get out of this place. I wouldn’t even pay $20 for this place. Sheets didn’t look clean, bed uncomfortable, room old, outdated and smells like pee. The A/c is so loud you have to switch it off…..tear it down and rebuild

This property is dirty and has bugs. Rooms look nothing like the ones shown in the photos. Ironing board was dirty. Our first room had dead bugs on our mattress and sheets. We requested a new room and this one also had bugs crawling around in it.

Take a pass on this one
First, I don't judge budget motels against higher level properties. I actually usually like places that are a little funky. With that said, this place was pretty dreadful. I was in town with my daughter for a soccer tournament and did not have the opportunity to book well ahead of time. We have stayed in the SLO area several times, from beach hotels to higher level properties. By the time we booked, rates were sky high. I read the reviews for this property and knew it wouldn't be fabulous. However, the first impression is that it's just a little weird. Check in was fast, no more than two minutes. In that two minutes, I was told, "no pets, no, smoking, no visitors - check out at 11," at least three times. The room was hot when we opened the door. The dresser was missing a handle on one of the drawers. Half of the power outlets did not work. There was a hair in the shower drain so the water would not vacate. I pulled it out and it was the size of a small rodent, so it has not been cleaned properly in awhile. I would not stay again, but to the hotels credit, it was relatively quiet at night. The location is not great, but you are very close to the freeway to get to the nicer parts of SLO.
