Relax and enjoy the sun on this secluded sandy beach, known for its shallow and calm waters.

Santa Giulia is a clean and attractive beach with gentle waters and dazzling soft sands. Despite its popularity among families and its excellent watersports facilities, it remains a relatively quiet spot to spend a relaxing day enjoying the sunshine.

Arrive early to get the best spots on the beach. Spread your towel under the shade of the trees at the back of the narrow stretch or rent a sun lounger or umbrella for extra protection. Under the watchful eye of lifeguards, take a dip in the very calm waters. Stay in the safe area in the centre that is cordoned off for swimming. The waters here, which are relatively shallow, are ideal for children and weaker swimmers.

Try a range of watersports using the available facilities. Speed through the waves on water skis or take a sailing or surfing lesson. Rent a paddleboat and cruise away from the shore to enjoy a new perspective on the picturesque beach. From the sea, admire broader views of the horseshoe-shaped bay, which is backed by lush vegetation and pine-covered mountain peaks.

Join other visitors to Santa Giulia beach in trying snorkeling. With several pockets of reef scattered across the bay and translucent waters, snorkelers can usually see all the way down to the sea bed.

Bring a picnic to enjoy lunch while looking out on the surf or choose between several cafés and beach bars with sea views serving food and drinks.

This spot is also an excellent jumping-off point for a boat excursion. To explore farther along the coast, embark on a trip which will take you to some of the pretty coves and beaches in the vicinity, many of which are inaccessible by car.

Santa Giulia beach is about a 10-minute drive from Porto-Vecchio. To avoid crowds, visit sometime other than August. Arrive early in the day to take advantage of the limited free parking available at the south end of the bay.
