Corte San Pietro
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (227)
"I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and visiting Matera in general. The staff spoke great English, were onsite and were very friendly and personable. We were welcomed with a personal sign outside our door as well. It was walkable to everything you needed. The breakfast included was AMAZING (piano player in the background, sit down white table cloth, table service and plenty of food options). You could explore the hotel and all of the cisterns. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. If I could rate...

Sant'Angelo, Matera
5.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (184)
"This is a property in the Sasso Caveoso in Matera, the most incredible and one of the most ancient places on earth. The views of the Sassi and the caves are incredible and the room carved in the rock was spacious and comfortable. I would have added a TV close to the bed and a second sink in the bathroom but altogether the place is great. Very good service ans evryone is superfriendly and helpful. Also great the breakfastr buffet"

Il Sorriso dei Sassi
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (21)
"We spent 3 nights in Matera at this B&B and were delighted with the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners despite our lack of Italian. We loved the stylish design of the room, the view across the valley and the freedom to come and go at will that the B&B offered. Lovely breakfast served every day. Very good restaurants within a few minutes walk and just up the road is the main thoroughfare for the evening after-dinner passagiere, which is an absolute must in Matera -- Italian life at its...

La Pergola ai Sassi
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (20)
"A great three-room B&B just a few minutes' walk from the centre of the sassi area and from a variety of cafes and restaurants. The hosts were very welcoming and took a pride in maintaining the property to a high standard. The room was clean, light and of an adequate size for our purposes. Breakfast consisted of local cheeses, meats and pastries - as much as you could eat. The B&B itself is located in a small "street" - there's no access for any vehicles and so it's a quiet location. Free,...

4.0 star property
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (60)
"This is an EXCELLENT place to stay and enjoy Matera. The rooms are big, very comfortable, modern, and convenient to walk around beautiful Matera. The bathroom is big and the toilet is in a separate room than the shower and the lavatory. The staff is very helpful and very cordial. They helped us with every request we had. But, I can’t emphasize more the location… it is in the middle of the Sassi and all locations that one needs to visit. It is located in a small mountain that overlooks part of...

"Beautiful hotel. Doing some restoration now but not a burden in any way. Room was spacious and clean. The property is actually spread out over several nearby structures, which adds to the overall appeal. Breakfast was in a modified cave and was a very good buffet.
