"The best part of our stay was the bedroom location. We had shakara room which is in the front and most private. There are rooms that have to walk either across the temple for shared bathroom or right next to the bathroom where there may be more noise. Not a fan of the only one bathroom. And water provided would have been nice. Showers have to be scheduled on time board since it is shared. Nice host and clean. Towels need improvement. Quality and quantity. "

"Very traditional Japanese hotel. Enjoyed the experience but as an American, I didn’t think the food was very good and I typically love Japanese food. There was an excessive use of gelatin coating on many of the dishes. Also, 2.25 hours for dinner was too long. We waited 15 mins after finishing each course to get the next one. "

"This is a beautiful renovation of a historic building . Feels like a more modern take on a mix of traditional inn / condo . It was the perfect space for our family of 4. We stayed in the Sakura suite and all used the outdoor tub. Location is a little bit away from the main sightseeing area in Kanazawa , but easy access by bus or taxi . We liked the quiet area around the inn . We will definitely stay here again ."

"This was my favorite stay out of all of my accomodations in Japan even if I was only there for a day (wish I stayed longer!). Soku-san and his wife are the kindest people ever and offered amazing hospitality. Gao is the cutest dog I've ever seen and I was super happy to get a picture with him at the end of my stay. Not many facilities in the hotel, a bar andbistro in the lobby and a sauna that requires a reservation, all bathing is done privately in your room.
