"All in all an ok stay, breakfast was great. Room was small but all ok. Staff were friendly and helpful. Main complaint was that no main bar area open, small lounge open and the staircase on our floor smelt or urine which was very off putting on arrival. At a guess I would say this would be down to the amount of dogs in the hotel on high floors "

"My mother and I had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Carlton Hotel, all the staff were very hospitable and could not do enough for us throughout our stay. We spoke to other returning guests whilst we were there and can see why they do so as the hotel was all that we required. I can see why it has such good reviews. The food each night in the restaurant was superb and the service too. I would definitely return if I was to visit Ilfracombe or this area again. "
