It was a short walk to the lake area and heated pool, especially since we ended up with a cool, cloudy week, the kids enjoyed the heated pool. "This is a great location for downtown Allentown, you can walk to a lot of places. We felt safe in the neighborhood and had no problems with moving in or out of the house. The rooms are big, so there is plenty of space. It is an older home, so the steps are squeaky and there are other minor old house details. We love older homes and found it charming in many ways. "What a perfect cottage for a weekend away for me, my mom, sister and niece (teen). The cottage is well kept, the beds are comfortable and the location was perfect for our visit to Jim Thorpe. The community was quiet during our stay and we enjoyed walks in the neighborhood, relaxing on the back porch and playing corn hole in the driveway. Wildlife abounds - we arrived to a doe and her fawns grazing in the backyard. Finally, Mackenzie was extremely responsive to all of our questions. "

"We wanted to visit Jim Thorpe. We were around 25 mins away. The scenic views made the drive seem shorter. We went into Lehighton to go to Lorenzo’s for dinner. It was not fancy, but the food was very good. We also did breakfast at Perch both mornings. The people are very friendly and the food was good, but leave a little extra time to get your food.
