"We loved our stay. It was comfortable and spacious and we wish we could have stayed longer. Check-in and out were very easy. It was very clean and so beautiful. The area is a little more out of the way than it appears so don’t expect to use this location as a hub for sightseeing, especially because Kyoto’s transit system isn’t as robust. That being said, you won’t really want to leave the room. "

"lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. I got mine by having a nice lady in the Kyoto railway station tourist office call the owner/manager, who promptly emailed instructions. The front “lobby” and hallway are unheated. There is no breakfast buffet, no vending machines, none...

"Perfect for short term stay in Kyoto. Accessible to Gojo and Kyoto station, good food in the immediate area (check out Ishisei!) and the check in/out process is super easy. Room was clean and had a deep bathtub. Futon was a little thin but that appears to be the norm in most inexpensive hotels. Staff was super friendly and the amenities are great, plus they offer a lot of extra options if you're interested."

"beautiful property. we had the traditional room with tatami floor. It was so comfy as it has floor heat on the floor. it is in a quiet residential area, you do need to walk about 5-10 mins out to the busier dining area. the share bathtub is a piece of art. a kitchen to share and you can leave your items in the share fridge. Owner and staffs are always helpful and they also arranged the luggage delivery for us. Highly recommended."

"I don’t think it’s good value. The hotel has no lobby for guests to even sit to put shoes on and space at the hotel entrance is very cramped, narrow and crowded for even one person to walk through with any baggage. Owner only offered one tea bag a day for a two persons room. I will not consider coming back again in the future."
