Aside from the house ventilation being a bit noisy and firm (but still comfortable enough) beds, these were quite minor considering the price range for such a lovely space. "Amazing attention to detail for a specail retreat. Enjoyed the fire, views, quiet and spa. Nice to have an electric lazyboy and smart tv. Cooking facilities are good. Bathrrom os lovely. Blinds could be improved, getting a little tired but servicable enough. A fabulous relaxing stay, i have recommeded to friends, and I'm keen to return myself!"

"Patrick was an absolutely wonderful host and the arrival process was smooth and easy! It was the most stunning location with a lot of space for the seven of us that stayed. Unfortunately it rained most of our stay so we are hoping to stay again to get to spend some time outside on the property. One thing to note is that the property is completely off-grid. We loved this aspect but definitely worth knowing that there is just one composting toilet and one shower when you have a big group!...

"This is a great spot. It's about 5 minutes from the Opua Ferry and less than 10 from Russell. It's super remote and quiet. Taking our suburban kids (9 and 4) was fantastic. There is a little boat shed at the bottom of the hill and access to a beach which my older kid loved exploring. The beach itself is quite rocky and full of oyster shells so not recommended for swimming but Long Beach near Russell is amazing and only a short drive away. The house itself is clean, tidy and well loved. ...

"Our group of friends arrived to a beautiful welcome basket and stunning views of Paihia. The home was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a dinner in town the first night and then ate at the legendary Duke of Marlborough on the second night. The cruise to the Bay of Islands and the hole in the rock was perfect. Great house and lots to do for our short stay. "

"I can’t fault the house. It was very clean and tidy. The kitchen facilities were all there and in working order. Great to have access to Netflix. Here was the issue. First is the very steep and dark drive way. I like property with easy access. This was not easy access. Once you got to the top of the drive you have to do a 3 point turn to be able to leave.
