The Tower Hall Funabori has an observation deck with exceptional views stretching across the city and the sea. Find a cinema and an array of restaurants inside the iconic skyscraper that rises above most of the Edogawa area. Snap photos of the tower, whose narrow form stands out among the towers in the Tokyo cityscape.
Appreciate the interesting design of the tower, which comprises a narrow double pillar that rises from a wider concrete base and resembles a sailboat. The column’s glassy exterior allows for ever-changing views, as you make your way up the skyscraper via its elevator.
Reach the observation deck for views of the city from a height of 377 feet (115 meters). Since Tokyo is renowned for its mega-tall structures, this viewing platform is comparatively low, providing an exceptional view extending across the city rather than down upon it.
Stay into the evening to see Tokyo’s labyrinth of lights reflected in the shimmering surface of Tokyo Bay. Pick out iconic structures such as Tokyo Tower, the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in the city’s jungle of neon lights, concrete and glass. See the Arakawa and Naka rivers running alongside one another.
Browse the various shops in the tower and watch some of the latest box office hits in the movie theater. The site is also used for offices and has a large conference center.
Note that the tower’s observation deck opens daily from morning until fairly late in the evening. It is free to enter.
