Relax on the shores of this rugged and lushly vegetated beach and visit one of the captivating attractions found nearby.

Treumal Beach is a small stretch of sand bordered by lush plants and pine trees. Despite its untamed appearance, this beach is quite popular during the summer months and plenty of food kiosks and equipment rentals are available. This picturesque beach also provides easy access to several nearby attractions, such as the Santa Cristina Hermitage and the Tropical Botanical Gardens of Pinya de Rosa.

Rent a sun umbrella and bring a good book to read while you lounge on the warm sands. String up a hammock among the beach’s shady trees and listen to the rhythmic crashing waves, which are often stronger here as a result of the beach’s steep slope.

Buy an ice cream to cool off in the mid-afternoon or grab a drink at the beachside restaurant. Dip your toes in the refreshing water and rent a paddleboat to propel yourself out into the sea.

Feel the sand between your toes as you walk along the coast. Pass by the large rock formations that divide Treumal Beach from neighboring Santa Cristina Beach. This lovely cove is set between two hills that shelter it from the wind and create calmer waters.

Walk up to the Santa Cristina Hermitage, which is set on a hill overlooking both beaches. Constructed in the 18th century, this Greco-Roman church is known for its multi-colored marble altar. You can also check out a collection of boats that were offered to the church’s saint by sailors and fishermen. Explore the square found just behind the church to see picturesque views over Santa Cristina and Treumal beaches.

Follow another footpath that leads to the nearby Tropical Botanical Gardens of Pinya de Rosa. Pay the admission fee to see a remarkable display of more than 7,000 tropical plant species. This garden is renowned for its exceptional cacti collection.

Treumal Beach can become busy during July and August, particularly on weekends. To avoid the biggest crowds, it’s best to visit outside of these months or on a weekday.
