"Based on the photos from the lobby, reception etc. I was expecting a very fancy place. But once I entered in the room, it wasn't really that way. My friend had another room for the same price and there was a heated floor in the bathroom, in mine there was no heating at all. In my shower there was a mold, but not in any extreme level, so it was acceptable. There was a hair drier, but no place to plug it in (in the bathroom), so I dried my hair in the bedroom. "The Mosaic Hotel is conveniently located close to main attractions. The price is very good for this location. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were very clean. There is no airconditioning in the hotel, but you can open the window and you will be alright. Please, check the pictures and reviews of other costumers before booking. There is a short walk throug the courtyard to get to the hotel, which some people might not like. It was perfectly safe. "

"It was minus 21 degrees C, and I was worried the hotel would be cold, but it was really toasty, with heat coming through the radiator and floor throughout the night. The hotel is in a great location, with nice bars, restaurants and coffee shops on the doorstep. You could also get free water and coffee from reception, and the receptionists were lovely. The building and rooms looked cool in a traditional way, although our bathroom tiles were loose. It was 25 minutes walk to the old town."

"A wonderful hotel with lovely helpful staff. Lots of advice on what to see, do and eat. Breakfast was wonderful, lots of choice for a small hotel. Close to the old town and all the sights. Lots of boutiques in the area too. Room was a generous size and the bed was so comfortable. Would recommend as a mid budget hotel with great service. "

"Nice place in a good location, very friendly service. Big enough for a family of four, accommodates in the extreme case even 8 people. The negative sides: (i) extremely noisy, because right downstairs is a popular pub. Hence not recommended for a family stay; (ii) the beds were very uncomfortable, making it difficult to sleep. Also night tables and reading lamps would be nice."

"The overall impression was positive. We did not have any concerns about the apartment or amenities, or service. Especially the location was perfect! If I ever go to Riga again, I would love to stay in the same area. The only problem was the absence of the elevator, while trying to climb up (with or without a luggage) on the 6th floor. For older people it would have been simply impossible."

"I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. I expected that as an older building it would be somewhat outdated and old fashioned. In fact most of the facilities appeared to have been recently renovated from the huge triple room we had to the spa and the restaurant. Spa area is not huge but I enjoyed the wave machine in the pool and the sauna was the best I have been in. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. I didn’t dine in the restaurant but Easy Pizza next door was good. Location convenient for all attractions and we walked everywhere except the zoo which was an easy tram ride. Definitely recommend. "
