"We had a great overnight stay at the Bella Vista! The managers were very friendly and offered some helpful tips when we told them we were heading to the South Island after checking out. The motel is in a really nice part of Wellington with a nice cafe a short walk away and great restaurants a bit further up the hill. Would definitely stay there again."

I was looking for somewhere inexpensive close to the CBD to stay for a couple of nights after driving down from Auckland to Wellington to take daughter to University. They have car parking on site (an extra $15 per night). Good location near the Wellington CBD. The front part of the lodge is an old building. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic weekend away. "Excellent facilities. The pool is small but amazing! Apartments are well equipped for two people and have full cooking facilities. Very comfy bed. Convenient to everything Wellington has to offer and is surrounded by craft breweries! The only thing to note is that some rooms literally look straight into a multi storey car park which is about 2 metres from your balcony. "The room was fine, very clean and comfortable but no window! Hotel clerks did not alert us to included buffet breakfast; they said we had to pay. I found out by accident it was included. They said we had to pay for a room upgrade. Location is great, but the area is a bit sketchy."
