"This hotel is right next to the main, central train station of Newcastle upon Tyne, and walking distance to the city's historical, entertainment and cultural districts, including Quayside, Newcastle Castle, the Baltic gallery, and Earl Grey Monument. The property is a heritage 1800's era building that has been reasonably modernized, but showing its vintage. My room was comfortable but not soundproofed, so you could hear the trains and the late night entertainment district sounds of party-goers....

"We added a trip to stay at Lumley Castle at the end of our Scotland trip because of the similarity to our last name. I'm so glad we did. We stayed in a State Bedroom in the Castle. Because they had no events scheduled for the night we were there we were allowed to explore. It is so well preserved. It was a magical place.
