Flights from Sydney to Hobart take you from oldest running commercial international airport to the small yet efficient Hobart International Airport (HBA) in Cambridge, Tasmania. With your cheap flights to Hobart in hand, leave Sydney CBD via the Airport Link train to Sydney Airport, 8 km south. Disembark at the station between domestic terminals 1 and 2, and head to the departures level. Trains run every 10 minutes, and the journey takes less than 15 minutes. If you drive to the airport, park in P1 or P2, both less than five minutes to the gates by foot. For long-term parking, there is the Blu Emu lot with a 15-minute shuttle ride to your gate.

Once you land, you’re only 17 km northeast of Hobart. Shuttle buses and taxis take passengers into the city in about 20 minutes. Public transportation is scarce, so it may be easiest to rent a car in Hobart and drive yourself. There is one car park at Hobart International Airport (HBA), which accommodates short- and long-term parking. Once in the city, head to Salamanca Place, where the famous Saturday markets are set up amongst elegant Georgian architecture. Walk Kelly’s Steps, built in 1839, to get to Battery Point to gaze at the neighbourhood’s historic homes.
