Food and beverage personnel were pleasant and very hard working. Service was slow sometimes due to lack of staff. Poor dining options; the resort does not have a nightly buffet, two dining restaurants share a kitchen slowing things down. Difficult to get restaurant reservations as time share owners get preferential access. Too many fine dining items require a surcharge. All inclusive food choices are mundane.

The food wasn't great. Actually went off property to get better food. The pool was big and nice, the access to the beach was nice. Cans of beer were not included in the all inclusive. I was drinking dos equis until I realized they were pouring it out of a plastic gallon jug. Overall, it was a good experience but due to cans of basic beers not being included in the all inclusive, and the food leaving lots to be desired, I would only stay here again if it wasn't all inclusive.

Not only is Royal Sands a tremendous value—it delivers a first-rate experience all around. It has the best beach, numerous amazing pool areas, and clean, well-tended grounds throughout. We’ve been there four times and plan to return to Royal Sands next time.

Beds were very very firm. Overall a very nice resort. Main dining room very crowded and they have an awkward reservation system for dinner. No ability to just walk in and eat dinner when you like. Shows are always dinner shows. Kind of strange way of doing a resort. Excellent service. Decent food and drinks. Nice large rooms but beds are way too firm like your arms and hands fall asleep all night firm!

Check-In took at least 25 minitues . We booked for a week and they wanted to put us in one room for 3 nights and 4 nights in another room. We did not except it . Later They found us a room to stay for one week . But we had to speak to manager to do this . Reception staff exception of few are not very hospital. Food and Beverage staff was excellent . Especially Enrique , Angel , Alfredo, Alexendro . Mexican and Bistro Restaurants were the best ones . Housekeeping was very good . Room was cleaned everyday . Travel Agent staff was also good especially Antonio . We booked three tours with home . First one Jungle tour it was awesome . Second one Xcaret was the best tour . Third one was the chichan Itzá Cenote and Valladolid tour was ok . Transportarion was too long . Whole trip took almost 12 hours and at least 6 hours of it on the road . Food was not good at Cenote . Over all . We enjoyed our stay at Royal Sands . We would definitely go back .

We were able to check in early and I very much appreciated that. I had two massages in the spa. While the massages are no bargain: $274 for two 50 minute massages. My masseuse was Emelio. He was amazing! I had a Swedish massage and an aromatherapy massage. I liked the amenities in the spa: vapor room, sauna, hot tub, showers, etc. Sisal is the best of the restaurants. We ate there three times during our five night stay. One complaint I have about the food is that they do not have real butter. The taste of margarine is overwhelming on the vegetables and mashed potatoes. The poolside drinks, food, and service are excellent! The ceviche is amazing! Breakfast at LaVeranda was outstanding! I had an omelette every day! The fruit was fresh and delicious! There were a wide variety of fresh pastries and even crepes made to order! I liked our room very much! It was clean and comfortable! I love all the channels we got in English on the tv. We were able to watch the MN Vikings game on Sunday afternoon. I have been a guest at Royal Sands almost 20 times! I will continue to book at least one vacation here every year!
