"The location is great—very close to Jesselton Harbor. We booked the OWD course, so it was super convenient for us—only a 3‑minute walk. There’s also a big shopping mall nearby, plus it’s easy to find the durian street, fruit market, and seafood market. The hotel price is quite cheap, and it’s clean enough. "The Shangti-La is just a step up from other hotels. Yes, it's big and busy but the staff go out of their way to really spoil you. I'm vegan and they bent over backwards to ensure I had a great breakfast, sent soy milk to my room tweaked dishes so I ate well. And the location - oh my. We stayed in a garden room and could walk straight out looking at the sea. Room had a shower and a bath, was well stocked. Water in the fridge every day. Their Spa was great too. I can't think of anything bad about the place. We just didn't want to leave. "
