"The hotel is charming, and the room clean and spacious. The included breakfast was also great. However, coming here during the last week of November, we found the entry stairs to be completely covered over with ice (super dangerous), and I mean THICK ice. I was scared climbing them even with my great hiking boots. And the roads on the way in were snowy. "On the hillside across the fjord from the airport and town, it was in the middle of having an extension when we were there (boy, Icelandic builders are hardy) so was a little out of sorts. That said, it is kept in immaculate order, and I’m sure the extension will be great. Currently it’s just 8 rooms, and won’t be so much bigger next year, but will have an internal lift so you don’t have to go outside to get to the lower rooms. There isn’t a restaurant, but the breakfast buffet is a good start...

"This was the perfect stop on the ring road. We were 2 minutes from the forrest lagoon, and 5 minutes from the center of Akureyri. The home was well equipped with the BEST shower of our stay. The sky was very dark and great for star/aurora watching. We were thoroughly inpressed with the luxury of the space. Owners were very gracious and went above and beyond for our stay. This place was charming, comfortable, and convenient. "

"This hotel is well positioned near a public pool....which would have been nice had we had time to take advantage of it. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a hot tub on property. "Great apartment! Centrally located on the main drag in Akuryeri and right next to this fabulous cafe called Berlin! The flat itself was spacious yet cozy, and after traveling for a few days it was a nice place to relax and watch movies while it snowed outside. The beds and linens were very comfortable, and there was off-street parking in a private lot. Would definitely book again! Wish we stayed longer than 1 night!"
