"My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was perfect. The views from the lanai are EVEN BETTER than the pictures. "I feel spoiled to have stayed in this house. It’s situated on immaculate grounds, about 20 min north of Hilo. There was plenty of space for my family of 5 (kids 13, 11 and 6). "We did enjoy our stay with some minor improvements needed. Number one impressive kitchen from photos but oven and cooktop were difficult to operate. We never did get either ovens to work. Poorly out fitted no vegetable peeler or box grater. Blender was broken and three chipped wine glasses only. This was rectified within 24 hours. No plastic ware for outdoor pool area. BBQ only had one propane tank with no spare to be found. Given the distance back to Hilo and the fact that ovens didn’t work...

"Gorgeous property that is so relaxing and close to lots of great things to see. I cannot express how very relaxing it was to stay there. Of your looking for quiet and peaceful this is the place. The cabin was stocked with several condiments and all the dishes you need to cook. The laundry area had detergent and dryer sheet for free to use. The showers have everything you need. "we met the owners on our arrival and found them to be extremely involved and wonderful hosts, our stay was also wonderful but we did have a few hic-ups , it. seems the company in charge of supply and care of the unit was being changed so we did not receive proper responses to our requests. after we found out who the new manager was (John) he took care of everything, Thank you again John. we highly recommend a stay at the Treehouse at Hakalau. we will return."

"My wife and I stayed at Royal Palms from November 8 to November 11 and had a wonderful time! Check in was very easy. A warm welcome note with a scrumptious fruit basket set a welcoming ohana feeling that was just right. The grounds and landscaping provided a lovely, tropical, and peaceful setting with relaxing nature sounds at night. The cottage decorum is elegantly casual with an awesome dry sauna and well appointed lanai. The Royal Palms cottage is definitely on our favorites list for big Island accommodations. Hosts Lauren and Kalani love this place and it shows! Aloha and mahalo nui! "

Dolphin Bay was a Fantastic Treat

"The rains definitely started to fall two days into our 3 day visit to Hilo and we desired to move from our relatively off-grid Hipcamp (which we loved!) into an actual hotel room with amenities. Dolphin Bay has been a bucket list hotel for me and sure enough, I checked Hotels.com to see if they had a room on the fly and they did! and one with a kitchen...PERFECT! Chrissy was so friendly and welcomed us and told us about things to see locally. The kitchen was immaculate and well set up. We were able to cook up a delightful gourmet dinner, wash and dry our laundry, I took a nice long bath annnnd I had Hallmark Christmas movies on almost the entire time...The rains just fell and fell outside the entire night and through the next day and it was soooo relaxing to just have the windows open listening to the rains and even thunder. Odie (I think his name is ) the kitty came in to visit us when my hubby opened the door. We love kitties and he is just a precious one; we welcomed him right in and he hung out with us the day of our checkout. The coffee and Banana Bread in the lobby was such an Amazing treat. We already had a reservation for another hotel on the waterfront just a few miles away so we checked with Katie in the lobby and she gave us the go ahead for a very relaxing Late checkout which worked perfectly to meet our reservation at the other hotel. She found out Kauai was on our itinerary and gave my husband some great info on places to visit. We love Dolphin Bay!"

Rainy Day Getaway

"We had an amazing time from the moment we called to see if we could get an early check-in and got the blessing from Megan who gave us the go ahead to come on in as they already a room ready for us. We had a corner oceanfront room and - even on the stormy Rainy day - it was just so wonderful to sit out on the balcony enjoying the view. We were so relaxed and it was just a dream getaway. We definitely intend to stay at The Grand Naniloa anytime we stay in Hilo in the future."

"SCP Hilo has the absolute best service and amenities, including free bike and paddle board usage as available. They also have an incredible pool, a wonderful garden, and a very unique and serene coy fish pond. SCP is also located within walking distance of many wonderful places to visit, such as Coconut Island and Liliʻuokalani Gardens. There are also a lot of fantastic food venues in walking distance, but you will likely find yourself returning to the Coconut Grill more often than not. The Vietnamese restaurant, New Saigon, located nearby is also fantastic. Lastly, there are a few bus stops in short walking distance, and since the buses are free, why rent a car at all? My wife and I had a fantastic late honeymoon here, and I can't recommend them enough! Book a stay at SCP and see what we mean! Aloha!"
