"Fantastic Sunday lunch and overnight stay. Had a late lunch and a very relaxed afternoon looking at the beautiful view before moving to the fireside sofas for an evening of board games, cheese and wine. Fabulous staff, lovely room. Overall a wonderful short break. "

"Room was small but very tidy, it had everything we needed. Bed wasn’t the comfiest but ok for one night. The view was amazing, high over other houses the countryside stretched for miles. Don’t book if you don’t like heights. Unfortunately there was something making a noise all night (heating, A/C, water) I don’t know what but it sounded like a heart beat all night long and kept me awake. "Had a steak in the evening it was lovely, I wasn't very impressed with the breakfast, no brown bread offered sourdough, but it just looked like a chunk of white bread, didn't eat. sausages were burnt, mushrooms, tomato and egg was nice. "

"Beautiful hotel in the most stunning location. Fantastic for dog walking and miles away from anything. Beautiful views, with access to sea and sand. Lovely food, rooms are great. Sadly didn’t get to use the spa as was fully booked but very quiet in the hotel so not sure how had booked it!"

"This is a lovely newish hotel in a beautiful bay. If you are looking to spend a few days doing nothing and chill this is the perfect place. The photos that you see on their website don't lie. The food was excellent too! Just a couple of minor issues. I know hotels try to create a mood but the piped music all day long can be a little irritating at times. The management obviously do their homework, so as a guest who am I to argue. The only other issue was the staff. Don't get me wrong, all of the staff were polite and courteous at all times and were never rude but they were very disconnected with the guests. We always had to ask for everything, no one was pro-active. Perhaps they were being overworked? They were very young and at times having someone more experienced overlooking things would have helped. The guys that drove the mini bus were the exceptions they were very communicative and personable. Also my wife had a facial in the spa, the lady was absolutely charming. Would I return to the hotel. Yes!"

fantastic stay

"Just spent 2 nights at The Hope & Anchor and had a fantastic stay. We arrived on Boxing Day a bit early for check in and although the restaurant was packed and the staff were really busy we got a very warm welcome and were able to go to our room. We had lunch and evening meal on the first day which were excellent. The breakfast was lovely (scrambled eggs were perfect and the overnight oats excellent). The room was very clean and warm with a nice view of the sea. There was a lovely welcome bag for the dog with lots of thoughtful things included. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The young girl serving breakfasts was particularly good. We were able to park on the road in front of the pub as it was out of season and the costs of the car park next door were reasonable. Will be booking again for next year!"

Elender Cove - a luxury coastal apartment footsteps from the beach

Great location

"Nice location 5 mins walk from the village with pubs restaurant and shop. Right on the SW coastal path. Well appointed apartment, with sitting area outside. Outdoor shower and room to hand wet gear also. Would go back. Just watch out for the narrow Devon lanes on the last couple of miles to the coast. "
