"This Dormy Inn was exceptional. The two hot springs baths and the sauna on the top floor were the highlight for us. We also enjoyed the complimentary ice cream in the evening and a free chair massage while our laundry was being done. After long travels in Japan, this Dormy Inn felt particularly welcoming with the complimentary lobby drinks and the complimentary ramen in the evening as well as all of the above mentioned conveniences. We will definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back...

"What a gem this place is! We stumbled upon this hotel for the first time and only booked one night, but we are anticipating our next visit will be soon and for longer. We took advantage of the complimentary round trip bus ride offered from Mishima train station. "Amazing and beautiful hotel. We got the Mt.Fuji view but didn’t get to see it because it was cloudy and rainy when we stayed. The dinner was not what I had expected for the price we paid. But the breakfast buffet was worth it and much better! I will stay there again for the private onsen and golf course in the future. Shared public Amenties with the Marriott which we had no idea but good to know in the future. The shuttle bus was convenient. "

"Oni no sumika is a beautiful ryokan tucked away in Shuzenji. The staff are all extremely kind and accommodating (they do not speak English, so google translator is a must if you’re foreign and they are quick to use it) The traditional breakfast was great, with many small dishes that leave you satisfied but not full to start your day. If I am in shuzenji again I will be staying here."

"The facilities were dated, which I knew going in. But I wasn’t prepared for the level of decline: none of the restaurants/bars were open (permanently, it seems), the front desk was hardly staffed, the lobby wasn’t an inviting place to spend time. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the onsen (hot spring bath). But no meals was unexpected & a bit inconvenient. My reservation supposedly included breakfast, but I was told “no food” by the front desk (and I do speak Japanese, confirmed the food situation.) We made do with the nearby convenience store and found a local place for dinner that turned out to be great. For the price, the onsen experience was worth it, but we had to adjust our expectations. "

Cool spot in the middle of izu!

"Nice secluded spot next to a river. You kinda need a car, though they do offer shuttle service from I don’t know where. I think it’s good for families since they have a game room with ping pong and karaoke and pet friendly. I had a Japanese room which overlooked the river! The futons were wayyyy too thin and my back paid for it. There nothing around it so opt for the meal plans. Dinners were okay mainly Japanese style. The breaky is early but the checkout at 11 makes up for it. Main problem is that the inside looks a bit shabby in places and it’s a shame they don’t fix the holes in the roof and such. Overall good value."

"We stayed here for one night and had a wonderful experience! The room was spacious with a fantastic sea view, making it a perfect place to relax. In the evening, we enjoyed playing table tennis, which added to the fun of our stay. The onsen with a sea view was incredibly relaxing—definitely a highlight! We recommend booking a stay that includes dinner and breakfast, as dining options nearby are quite limited, though there is a convenience store within a 5-minute walk."

"Staff is very welcoming; we got a snack upon check-in. We went with the dinner option by the riverside as it was hyped up by youtubers, but we found that the price is not worth the price tag. We paid around $260 for 2 people for dinner. The food could be a lot better to justify the price tag. The room is a bit old. Other than those two points, the environment is nice and room is very clean and comfortable."
