"The Kimpton Aluna was a great place to stay near the beaches and DT Tulum. Rooms are spotless and friendly for the price. The food here was delicious. They also have a social hour every day with free drinks and food. Helpful staff that will help you reserve excursions or restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place. FYI, the area around it is under construction, so it might feel a bit undone. I'm sure in a few years this area will transform. "

"The place is brilliant. I think this is the one of the best hotels I have stayed in my life. You will have you own suite with backyard, and I especially like the outdoor shower. However, the location is terrible. It's far away from the center city and taking a taxi is really expensive in Tulum. If you don't mind taking a cab every day back and forth to the tourist resort, go with it for sure. It's like 20 bucks at least for any one-way trip. "

"Property was clean and well kept. Staff was attentive and friendly. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood where you can easily walk to restaurants and entertainment. We stayed in the room with the floating bed suspended by rope. I found the space awkward. The bed took up the entire room space. It was no room for luggage, no night stand to place anything. This made for your room to get/look cluttered quickly. Also in the shower area there is no bench or area to place your shower gels or shampoos....

Our private room was clean, the hosts were friendly and helpful, and the location was very near to cafes, shops, markets, etc… but not on the main road. The pool was down when we were there but it looks like they were fixing it. Also, there was a big storm when we were there. The electricity went out but they came around with candles which was really helpful! "

"We stayed 9 days in the 3 bedroom and 5 days in the 2 bedroom apt. I would recommend this place and would stay here again!!! Pros: Huge Apts. Good location. We felt safe, they had 24 hr security. Wifi was strong. Fans in every room. The AC in the 3 bed apt was amazingly cool. The soaker pool was perfect. With in walking distance to some restaurants. Beautiful birds fly around and visit the balconies. They let us move to the next apt a bit early and were very fast at responding through WhatsApp. Cons: One of the bedroom bathrooms smelled and we couldn't figure out why in the 3 bed apt. No elevators so carrying the luggage to the 3rd level was a work out. The main pool didn't look clean so opted to not go in and stick to our soaker pool. Eventually we saw someone clean it. There's construction across the street but it wasn't loud enough to bother us. "
