I appreciate this is a budget price for a hotel in London but there is no excuse for poor cleanliness and upkeep.
The hotel is grubby everywhere and rooms are in general disrepair. Honestly the carpets are so dirty your gonna get your feet dirty walking on them.
No towels in room had to ask for some and rooms unbearingly hot with just a desk fan. You can see there used to be air con but no more.
Not sure what affiliation Travelodge have with this hotel but it is clear whoever owns it had no interest in providing comfortable accommodation and instead does the bare minimum possible to make money. As its cheapish and in a pretty good location in London it obviously relies on this for business. I cannot imagine anyone would ever come back to the hotel.
I have stayed at many Travellodges over the years and none have been like this. They maybe cheap and cheerful but usually clean and comfy enough.
The only thing I will say is the reception staff were polite. I feel sorry for them as they obviously get a lot of complaints. I noticed other customers complaining too for multiple reasons.
Oh yes and there is building work taking place directly outside the hotel with construction starting 8am.
Just okay to stay a night. But it is under expectation for the price you paid for. No WiFi, No AC, No complimentary water, No clean carpets on the hallway, rooms are very small. Also very noisy because of the railroad.
Overall just fine if you need a place to stay a night.
Filthy, unattended, drains clogged up, short of staff… by far this has been the worst hotel I have been in. The cleanliness and basic service performance is appalling. All the drains are clogged up. Other guests were also complaining and the staff couldn’t care less.
Do not stay with Travelodge. Their standards have gone way below those of a cheap-hotel alternative.
