"This Holiday Inn actually adjoins the Hualuxe Hotel (both properties are owned by the IHG group). When you arrive, you check in at the Hualuxe reception area. A buffet breakfast is served on Level 1 of the Hualuxe property; guests also have access to the swimming pool on Level 3 of the Hualuxe Hotel. The properties are located in a fairly quiet, leafy area, and it's only a 12-minute walk to the Guangming Road metro station, from where you can get to the centre of Shanghai in just over an hour....

"Thermostats didn’t work. Room temperature reached to 28C. Front desk suggest to provide a fan - I was shocked to hear that. Upon refusing the fan option, changed my room. New room - window wouldn’t close so you can count how many cars passed by. In the morning AC automatically changed to heater and I woke up due to hot room. Old and hard to operate thermostat. Room size although they call it king size bad room was terrible. No sitting spot to sit and put your shoes on. Breakfast is below...

"This is one of the most spectacularly designed hotels I have ever experienced. And I've been around. It feels like a garden oasis and museum just as much as a hotel. No cost to create a mesmerizing interior was spared. A far cry from the typical 5 star tower with predictable, boring environment.
