"Monteverdi Country Lodge was very nice stop on our first trip to Costa Rica. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and kind, and that alone made the stay 5 stars in my book. The room was clean and comfortable. My only small complaint were a slight lack of electrical sockets in our room. We made do, but given how dependent we all are on our devices, a few more would have been nice. Also, the location is set back from the main road, so the location would not really be considered walkable...

"I didn't think the food at the restaurant was cooked very well. Twice I order chicken and it was overcooked. The people who worked there were pleasant enough but it felt like they didn't like their jobs. The only exception was our tour guide. Sadly, I can't remember his name but he was great. He was the guide who met us and went with us to the La Pavona Dock."

"It is a longer walk to the town, but you have convenience of free breakfast and dinner dining on the property. I loved that it was the closet to the Cloud Forest - we walked to the ticket window! Wonderful garden views from our room. Very peaceful. Staff was very helpful in booking tours for us. "

"This was the perfect place to stay on our first night in Belize. It is only a short drive and pick up from the airport is offered. The location is quiet and right on the river. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The food is really good. We took a morning boat ride with Edmund and saw 30 bird species. Highly recommend this location."

"The view from our room (#11) was unbelievable. We had a full window wall that provided a jaw-dropping view of the volcano. Impressive!!! It was very convenient being adjacent to Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. There are no restaurants at the Lodge but the neighboring hotel has a very nice restaurant which is just a very short drive down the hill. Breakfast, which is included, is also at this restaurant and is very good. The drive into LaFortuna is about 15-20 minutes or so. Highly...

"Rustic glamping comes to mind! Cabins can get hot as there is no AC. But you are in the middle of the park and the birds wake you up with loud chirping at 5am!"
