"Really enjoyed our short stay and visiting this area. Walkable distance from the station and lake. A full Japanese-style breakfast was beautifully presented with some alternatives also on offer - fruit, eggs, bacon etc. We visited in May when the hotel and Suwa generally were very quiet so we were able to enjoy the hotel facilitie - the modern reception area and onsen. Good size room with twin beds. Go for one with a lake view if possible."

The property is tucked up in the mountains, and it was magical to gaze at the magnificent view while soaking in the rotemburo (outdoor bath). "Room was smaller than expected (about 10 tatami). Onsen was fine. Food was tasty, and changed the second day, which is nice. The ryokan building itself is quite pretty. It's easy enough to find, less than a 10 minute walk from the station. It is in the middle of a town, so it doesn't feel very rural, but I guess that's a tradeoff for the convenience of the location. And since it's in a town, it's quite easy to walk out to cafes, restaurants, convenience store, etc. Staff were all very friendly....
