Sintra is a generously sized house with a large, safe garden that was perfect for the kids to play in and for general relaxation although there were only 4 hard-surface loungers provided and we had to supplement them with our own beach chairs. "Heron Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It's spacious and very well equipped with everything we needed. Plusses for us included the yard outside with nice space to sit; a nice range of games and books; lots of cuddly blankets and comfy sofas. "Very clean and good quality fresh linen. Steep downhill walk to town centre but with lovely views all the way. Steep walk back but bus available. Suggest bus timetable in house and local map. Small private courtyard was a bonus but needed attention as weeds were growing over furniture."
