"The Rusutsu Resort Hotel is a well-oiled machine - all the staff are polite, helpful and they are used to moving lots of people at once. Rooms are clean and reasonably large for Japan. The rooms and facilities are dated; it feels very 90s. Main areas could use a refresh, especially the carpeting in the hallways. Expect to have to walk a lot to get anywhere: to your room, to the ski locker, to restaurants, to the ski hill. Could be really noisy depending on your room’s proximity to the elevators...

Just a few minor gripes, which are feedback for the hosts who were great: Most of the doors are too low, everyone bumps their head at least once. No secure lockers. Communal areas could benefit from more seating, which would encourage people to hang out. The kitchen (if you can call it that) could be improved. "All in all my mates and I had a great stay, we paid for a private room and paid almost the same amount you would for those little cubicles. Great option because we got to have a bit more privacy. The property was a great little hostel, they have two toilets, one in the restaurant and one in the back, a shower/bath for guests staying at the hostel. Fridge for your food from Seico or 7/11.
