"It's a decent place to stay. I'd say about 3.5 stars out of 5. Downsides are an older building, and water in the onsen too hot for me personally to tolerate (definitely seemed a few degrees warmer than other onsens I've visited). The Wifi also was poor, being slow and frequently losing connection. This ryokan, on the plus side, is very close to the train station and a convenient jumping off spot to visit the Snow Monkey Park. It can be walked, although I suspect most people will take the bus."

Having to ride bikes up the hill was not great start mid August but the had buke storagd and I would not mind the walk in Winter. "First off the reception has a strong stench of cigarette smoke. On check out the hotel demanded extra money than what was listed on the book page. They listed ¥150 per person per night which was fine however they wanted another ¥350 per person for heating cost!?!? Which was never listed during booking. "The BEST ski in ski out we have ever stayed in! It was so convenient to get out the door and step onto the slope and ski down into the ski room at night. No need to hike up to a lift or haul kids around to get to places. The family the owns the hotel is so wonderful and kind. The room was comfortable and the onsen felt great after skiing.
