Nice property, subpar surroundings
I stayed here with my two older teens for 3 nights.
The pros about this site: The property itself and the check in process. The check in process was smooth and the room was as expected. It was nice and clean and had everything we needed. They even provided little sealed packs of extra toothbrushes and toothpaste (much appreciated) along with coffee and a selection of teas and sugars (including raw sugar- also much appreciated!)
The rooms we stay in were connecting rooms #7a ( a studio with a Q bed w/trundle, a futon and a full kitchen— note: turn off the ice maker in the freezer before going to bed, as it drops every hour!) and #10(studio with a Q bed w/trundle and small sink and fridge). #7a has two doors- the first is a shared entrance with the upstairs 7B studio, the second is the front door to 7a. We could also just enter through #10. Our connecting rooms actually worked out great to have the separate spaces and bathrooms, yet all together. This was the main reason I chose this property. There was also secured parking under the building for $20 a day- we’ll worth it. My teens also liked the hip decor through the hallways and a cool coffee spot 2 blocks down.
The cons about this site: The environment immediately surrounding the building. There were homeless living across the street a half a block up and two deserted run-down buildings surrounding this property. I didn’t want to walk anywhere and was glad to be able to come and go from the garage. Not the feel I was hoping for on our 4 day trip to San Diego.
We were also awoken one night by a homeless man yelling outside for at least a half hour and banging on the gate below our window. A little scary.
So overall, we would rate the property and the communication as very good but the surroundings as not.
