The buildings aren’t the only impressive sites to see from above. Follow the Star Ferry as it cruises back and forth between Hong Kong and Kowloon. Scan the forested hills to see the extensive natural landscape that borders Hong Kong to the south.
Ride up to The Peak via the Peak Tram, which is a 1.4-kilometre (0.9 mile) cable railway from Central that has served the area since 1888. Otherwise, take a bus or car plenty of parking can be found at the top of the hill. European imperialists built homes on Victoria Peak for the cool temperatures of the higher elevations. Until the tram was built, these residents were carried to The Peak in sedan chairs.
In addition to the Sky Terrace, where you can see grand views in every direction, The Peak tower features restaurants, shops, and museums, such as Madame Tussauds. Next door, find more boutiques and eateries at the Peak Galleria. Buy souvenirs, then enjoy an ice cream as you sit outside by the colourful fountain.
