"We are so happy we stayed at Akwaba Lodge. The grounds are well maintained and we had opportunity to walk around and explore. We loved and appreciated the home made meals, breakfast to get us going with fresh homemade bread and jams. Then dinners, with a couple options to choose from, were delicious. We felt like we were part of the family dining there. The room had all we needed and was cleaned daily. We enjoyed some time just sitting at the table outside our room or relaxing in the hammocks....

"Nice hotel, great staff, first room was unbearably loud. There was a night club right outside our window that went to 4 am and it was like it was playing in the room even with ear plugs. Impossible to sleep. We mentioned it to the receptionist and she mixed us to a quieter, slightly smaller room, which we were very grateful for. I will say the food was good and reasonably priced. The restaurant staff was way overworked on the weekends, but very pleasant anyway. They had a terrific 2 for 1 on...

"A real guest house in Bocas with a homely feel. Only 10 mins max to the action but so nice to come back to peace and quiet and the wsves across the road gently splashing away. Breakfast is superb and plentlyful. Everything cooked to order and tastes that way too.I find this place fits my needs and budget perfectly."

"My wife and I stayed for 9 nights last week and couldn't believe how quiet, peaceful and lovely the place is! The beach was beautiful and private. The whole place is private! You are literally on a remote island that is off the grid! The only place to connect with the outside world is in the main clubhouse where there is satellite internet, which we didn't mind at all bc we were definitely trying to unplug. There are some activities you can do such as your basic water sports or book...

It took them half an hour to charge my credit card for the cost of the room and we had to drive 20 minutes, back to the city, to find a place to eat. Back at the room it was cozy with a fire place.
