Welcome to the Ancram Aviary! Tucked away in the heart of Hudson Valley, a tranquil escape awaits you just a 2-hour drive from Manhattan. Step into this 1950s cottage where vintage charm meets contemporary design aesthetic and modern comforts. The house offers 2,500 square feet of living space on a sprawling 5-acre plot of lush woodlands. While being cose to charming towns like Hudson, Catskills, Rhinebeck, the house can also be a perfect sanctuary if you are looking to rest and recover.
The space
The house offers 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, two large living spaces, an open-concept kitchen/drawing/dining area, and two outdoor patios. The cottage can sleep 5 comfortably.

Each bedroom comes stocked with clean sheets, towels, and basic toiletries for your stay. The kitchen is fully functional along with a coffee/tea bar. Take a trip to the nearby Hannaford grocery store, or the many farm stands for fresh meats, groceries, and more, and enjoy a home-cooked meal with family and friends. Don't forget to check out our well-equipped bar cart and impress your friends with your cocktail-making skills!

Need to get some work done - head over to the dedicated working space we’ve set up in the attic. We provide super-fast 1-GB fiber optic WiFi (ideal for work, entertainment, gaming, and Zoom calls) to ensure you never miss a moment even in this low-cell connectivity part of the Hudson Valley woods.

If you’re planning to spend a day in, the living area downstairs, with its pine-wood cathedral ceiling, 65’ TV setup, and flex indoor/outdoor space can be your perfect sanctuary. Whether you are looking for a movie night, playing games/pool with loved ones, or quiet time to create and connect, this massive living space has it all.

Step outside onto one of our two outdoor patios, perfect for barbecues, evening drinks, or morning coffee & croissants with a serene backdrop.

We have aspired to create a family- and dog-friendly space. Amenities like a pack-and-play crib/playard, toys for kids, bowls for pet food and water, towels to wipe off paws at the door, basic cleaning supplies, etc. are available to make your stay comfortable.

The Ancram Aviary is ideally located in the Hudson Valley, offering a serene escape while remaining a short drive from vibrant towns like Hudson (20 min), Red Hook (20 min), Millerton (20 min), Catskill (25 min), Rhinebeck (35 min), and Kingston (40 min) with ample options for restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and antiquing spots. Additionally, the many breweries, wineries, and distilleries in the region won’t disappoint!

Nature lovers will relish the all-season activities in the area, with proximity to some amazing spots like Lake Taghkanic (10 min), Lake Copake (15 min), Bash Bish Falls (25 min), the Harlem Valley Trail (25 min) and skiing at the Catamount Mountain Resort (25 min).

The Valley is a haven for artists and art lovers, with various galleries, studios, and shops. The famous Art Omi Sculpture and Architecture Park is 30 minutes away, and the popular Storm King Art Center is an hour's drive south of the cottage.
