"This really is a 'leading hotel of the world'. I've been privileged enough to stay in some top hotels around the world and this was one of my favourites. Pristine inside and out. The pool area is stunning. Great bars and dining options. I liked the Galaxia Sky Bar which has fantastic views. Within a very short walk there are some nice restaurants and bars around the hotel. "The staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay . The room was probably in need of an update but cannot fault the cleanliness . It has a lovely bar area inside and out and both the outdoor pools were clean and tidy . The indoor spa and pool were an added bonus . We were B&B and the breakfast was more than acceptable. We did eat in the restaurant on one of the evenings and found the food lacking in choice but this would be my only negative. The hotel is a 20min walk into the town centre...

"Honestly, I thought this hotel was great. I enjoyed my room: clean, with a great shower and it had the benefit of a fridge and a balcony with sea-view. The daily room service was also appreciated. The hotel's team members were friendly and efficient. It had a decent in-house restaurant, but there was also the option of walking for no longer than 10 minutes to get to other restaurants. Good sized pool(s) with plenty of seating. "

"Beautiful grounds and buildings. Good restaurants/bars internally and others walkable distance downhill (taxi back for the less fit). The main asset of the hotel are the brilliant staff who treated my wife and I wonderfully. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation. Great week there. And Madeira is beautiful - did a tour of the western and northern sides - fantastic."
