Overall, it was an enjoyable and memorable stay. We absolutely loved the plates and glasses, dish washer, fridge/freezer (though more ice trays are needed), laundry, and the deep kitchen sink! For future renters, I will list a few issues we noted. The property has NO parking and NO yard (front garden area was overgrown, small, and unusable). Having no A/C on London’s two hottest days of record was nearly unbearable (33-35 degrees Celsius indoors), and it was unseasonably hot all 10 days we were there (July 2022). There were portable fans, but they weren’t very helpful given the limited number of electricity outlets in a home of its age. Perhaps the most important downside was the neighborhood. It was a bit rough for our taste and very loud at night (people screaming at each other past midnight every night), and the surrounding construction awoke us every morning (though I doubt that to be constant…just our dumb luck as was the weather). The home was good and spacious (by European standards), but be prepared to climb stairs and lots of them. There really isn’t an easily accessible and comfortable common area if you’re renting and expecting family time. Most of the sitting furniture on each floor was moderately soiled/worn. The bottom floor has a room that has nude photographic artwork (not appropriate for children under 17). That room could easily be converted to a lovely common room with the correct new furnishings and removal of the “art” and office equipment. Again, overall it was good, and we would consider renting the property again if the need arose. There was nothing that I would consider to be unmanageable. Julian was communicative, helpful, and easy to work with which was delightful.
