Best New York Historic Hotels

Waldorf Astoria New York

5.0 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (1004)
"Absolutely lovely and sophisticated property with tons of history. It was so unique and exciting to stay here. Only thing I did wish was that they would throw in free wi-fi. With all the money spent to stay here, I would think that would be a small convenience."

Excelsior Hotel

3.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (1000)
"The hotel is unique in decor. It is older, but very clean and antique decor. I loved it. We were pleasantly surprised to get a larger room. Very close to Central Park and Museum across the street. Also subway is close. We walked to the theatre district for a play. I was so happy to find that cleaning staff found my wallet. I had left it in the safe and staff had given it to the office. What a huge relief!! Nice to know we do have some decent honest people in this world!! Excelsior is our...

Hotel Belleclaire

4.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (2117)
"Great hotel and service. This hotel is in the perfect location to see the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The room was comfortable and clean. However, our first room was a connecting room and you could hear the people next door like they were in the room. The hotel was gracious about moving us to another room. Unfortunately, most of the rooms with a Broadway view are connecting rooms. We didn't mind giving up our view for the quiet."

Hotel Edison Times Square

8.0 out of 10, Very good, (4338)
"My girls and I stayed 5 nights at Hotel Edison (11/25-11/30/24) to see Broadway shows and the location was great. We were early to check in and our room was ready, but to get into it we had to pay $60. We did because we were tired, but didn't make sense because it was ready? The room was clean, but very dated and worn (The doors had chunks out of them, were just painted over and there was a corner of the closet Room was very noisy (we were across from the ice machine & it was noisy all the...
