"We stayed at Fairmont for only a night. The hotel is beautiful and historic and the room was nicely decorated and clean with a comfy king bed. Things that could have been better is first and foremost the insanely expensive parking price 102$/nigh!!. I don't know how they just come up with these numbers...and it wasn't even valet or anything special. So that is a huge turnoff and the second thing was the wifi charge which most hotels will offer you for free. But I guess it's worth visiting and...

"This is our absolute favorite hotel, not only in San Francisco, but the US. We travel quite extensively and we cannot exclaim the virtues of this property enough! The property is immaculately clean, decorated beautifully and has maintained the charm of this historic hotel. EVERY employee from the front desk to housekeeping to restaurant staff to valet parking attendants are the best. The housekeeping staff thanked us for staying at the hotel. "Excellent hotel in wonderful location, safe and secure, and nice to walk, even at night. Easy access, for SF, with car. Our room was upgraded, 719, and was large with nice view of the cathedral. Excellent breakfast was complimentary both days we stayed. Beds were comfortable. One hiccup, only one elevator was working for the entire hotel because no repair service was available over the holidays. As we were not in a hurry, not a huge inconvenience, but there was wait at certain times. "

"The hotel was perfectly located in a very safe area. (Nob Hill). Restaurants were abundant and within walking distance. The rooms had been renovated, and the Free Parking was a Homerun. We took buses and cable cars within a block of the hotel.If I’m ever back in SF, I’ll be staying there again. "
