Kirpal Meditation and Ecological Center

3.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (77)
"This is the real Hawaii! The property is located in a relatively remote area about 30 minutes south of Pahoa. Beautiful setting in the middle of a forest not too far from the
beach
. Isaac Hale Park is within walking distance and although the
beach
isn’t very safe for swimming there is a pond there that you can swim in. The accommodations are primitive and like camping but Mango Cabin was very spacious and the beds were VERY comfy. It is off-grid but there is electricity to the cabins. The cabins...

Ma'ukele Lodge

3.5 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (150)
"Outside shower was pleasant experience once I got used to idea! Walk to lava
beach
on property was extraordinary experience. Breakfast Food was excellent. Hosts were generous, kind and thoughtful. Lack of central air was disappointing but numerous fans helped a lot and open screened windows let breezes in. Still humid though. Loud Background noise of night critters was not a problem. Actually soothing and comforting after a day of traveling. "

"My stay was really excellent. The people who live there are very kind, for any need they are ready to help. Not to mention the forest: drinking rainwater, eating the best coconut trees of my life, eating fruit that I had never even seen, waking up early with the birds singing .. all truly magical! I highly recommend it to EVERYBODY."

Kalani Oceanside Retreat

3.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (7)
"The location and atmosphere can't be beat. The area was very lush and gorgeous, and we could see the sunrise over the
beach
from our patio (and showers!). The cottages, each an individual standalone unit, had a wonderful rustic decor, with plenty of windows to enjoy the scenery. The establishment is not kidding about the lack of connectivity though: I couldn't connect to the complimentary wifi, and I had only emergency calls and no data through my Verizon provider. But if you want to go off the...

"The house sits on beautiful property surrounded by various flowers and fruit trees. About 6 min walk to the ocean to enjoy sunrises. Ocean is also visible from front porch or upstairs living room. The place has all you need to cook meals. It’s very quiet location , no immediate neighbors. There is a nice coffee shop near by. Truly beautiful, amazing and peaceful place.
