"Historical Portuguese lava stone building that has been completely modernized with all amenities without losing it's traditional charm. Quiet location in close proximity to natural lava pools. Hosts were wonderful to work and communicate with. When there was an issue with the plumbing it was resolved immediately. We were able to gain an appreciation for Portuguese culture. Local store nearby. A car is essential. Restful and relaxing. Great home base when touring the island."

"I had 4 nights in this very agreeable hotel Very convenient for boat terminal and whale watching trips and restaurants I was lucky to get a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea Breakfast was more than adequate and plenty of it! Room was comfortable and very quiet Absolutely no need to change my towels and sheets every day! I certainly did not ask for it!"
