"This property perhaps is best appreciated by thinking of it as a 'condo ' rather than a posh resort. Very well run, clean, close attention to detail, free parking, loaner beach gear etc. If you are expecting water slides and a lazy river...no. Medium sized pool w/ hot tub that we rarely shared w/ anyone. Do note that the upstairs neighbors were loud -- early (4 and 5 am) in spite of 'quiet time'. We complained once and then let it go... Great home base to Hanalei and local beaches. "

"Considering how much less it cost than nearby non-resort hotels, I was astounded at how nice this property was. The washer and dryer and multiple bedrooms/bathrooms were excellent, and I was extremely impressed by the cleanliness and condition of the unit. No odors or stickiness or any of the other issues that tend to occur at properties with kitchens. Check-in was easy and the walk to resorts and shops was fine (although there's a section without a sidewalk and the hills might be a bit much for...

"We stayed at the Royal Kuhio for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is amazing! In the heart of Waikiki -- walking distance to the beach and all major eating joints and major attractions. We had a corner unit and the view from the balcony was amazing. We could see diamond head. I am sure the view gets even better as you get to the higher floors. We would definitely love to come again!"

"This property is beautifully maintained with golf-course-like grass and colorful flowers. The receptionists are all warm and helpful. Location is very conveniently situated between Whaler villages and other beaches. The bathroom shower ceiling was opened and revealed the dusty vents which was not a site I wanted to see but nonetheless the room was clean and tidy! "
