Great pool and beach area. The ala carte dinners are amazing. Fantastic wait staff, bartenders and animation team. Reception check in/out was easy and efficient. 2 that mbs up...I would return to this resort.

We booked here for a couple of weeks and we’re not sure what to expect. Snorkeling, walking and sun were our reasons for staying here. The snorkeling from shore was so convenient. There are a variety of fish and so many different spots to explore. We very much enjoyed it. Highlights for us included seeing a huge spotted eagle ray, turtle and the schools of blue tangs. We walked about 7km every morning (and felt very safe doing so!). Located just outside the hustle and bustle of the cruise ports and downtown, there were always people around. We relaxed in the sun on the ‘beach’ side primarily. If you like entertainment and games then the poolside is a great option for you. Staff are excellent and so friendly. They truly make the resort what it is! The buffet food was good. There were different themes each night which was fun. Some dinners had great shows to go with them (Mayan show, Fire Dancers, etc). The venues for the buffet changed to different locations around the resort and we really enjoyed that. We also made reservations at the a la carte restaurants and were impressed by most of them. The rooms are very simple and dated but clean. We heard that renovations are underway but we did not see or hear any activity indicating so. A refresh of furniture and bathrooms would be great. Having said that though, we would we would book here again. Thanks for a great stay!!

The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Access to the ocean is definitely a reason to choose this resort. And I met so many other nice guests. We had some illness in our group and the front desk even said they could talk to the chef if we’d like and ask him to make chicken noodle soup. We will be back!

This lovely place is walking distance from town and it has a dreamy beach with a swimming area, and gigantic pool. Staff are friendly, food is great, and even on a rainy day there is plenty to do. It is an easy place to stay if you don’t, or barely speak Spanish. I’ve been twice and would return again. If I want more I’ll get a day pass to a bigger resort but have never felt the need.

The hotel and surroundings are dated. The beach is rocky but you are able to swim, snorkel or dive right from the hotel access. Their main dining room overlooked the water with breathtaking views. The staff made our stay a delight! We would definitely go back!

Property was well kept. No Wi-Fi in the room or outside the hotel, only in the lobby area. Had to walk across the street to eat meals provided unless booked fire special dinners and food was mostly cold. Cafe by pool had great food but sparse hours. Pictures online looked like it was on beach side water across the street, but wasn't. Only rocky water shore line. No coffee in the room & available in lobby at certain hours only.

The pool is nice. The food is good but the whole experience is more for spring break partying. Not relaxing, rejuvenating, destressing but high energy. That’s for young people not people over 65.

If you are looking for a nice location close to town (15 minute walk) that also has great snorkeling and diving opportunities, this is your place. If you like fancy food and fancy drinks, you might consider another location. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and the drinks are good, they are just not high end. What makes up for it, is the staff that is taking care of you. They have an amazing always friendly staff that made our trip great.

This is a wrist band towel card place so I was managing expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Stayed here 2 nights. The staff is amazing! The hotel is basic but very clean and comfortable. There was an amazing Mayan performance one night with a buffet dinner, so much fun, met some great people. The beach area is beautiful, absolutely stunning sunset. Location is great, away from busy area but within walking distance.

Love the pool, scuba and snorkeling, lockers, but most of all the wonderful workers. Kiera is always up, positive and fast with correct orders. Other great servers are Cornelio, Cynthia, Mariana, Gabriella, Alid, Josue. Bartenders, activity staff, dancers, shows, speciality dinners, room cleaners and scuba staff all super. The area that needs work is the rooms. Whoever thought it was a good idea to take out the table and chairs and put in a hammock over a tile floor in the rooms is just plain crazy. Put the hammocks at the beach. Taking out couches in the lobby for rickety cheap tables and chairs also not good. All of the rooms need to have upgraded bathrooms with showers not ancient bathtubs that are two feet off the floors. Wyndham has not made improvements in bathrooms and furniture that are essential. This could go from a three star hotel to a four or five star so easily with some decent improvements and the same wonderful staff.

Pros: Perfect spot for snorkeling, beautiful reef right at the hotel. Cons: There is no wifi in the room, also no Netflix in the room. The showers doesn't have hot water.
