"Overall a very wonderful Ryokan expierence! We paid for both the dinner and breakfast, both of which were very sensible and delicious. I do believe that it is worth the extra added cost, especially the dinner, which is served in our room. The breakfast was served in a dining room on the 2nd floor, which was still nice but definitely a different feeling. We had the choice to choose from three different time slots: I think we ate at 6:30PM (latest available) and 8:00 AM (2nd option). I will say...

"I cannot speak highly enough about this ryokan. From check in to check out the staff was very attentive to our needs and helpful with whatever we needed. The rooms were clean and traditional style, but included a tv with streaming services, which I loved as a traveler! And the onsen was like heaven after walking around Kyoto in February. It was always clean and well organized. When I come back to Japan, I will def stop here to rest!"

"Staff was over the top friendly and helpful. They allowed us to store our bags before and after check in/check out so that we could go explore Kyoto without having to haul our stuff around. They were also very helpful to help us acquire a taxi big enough for 6 and provide local restaurant recommendations. We were on the road side and so the rooms had quite a bit of traffic noise, but other than that everything was great. "

"Everything about this property was amazing!! The staff was so kind and helpful, especially Chiba in the dining room. Please do get the half board option! The food I was served was incredible and worth almost as much as I paid for the hotel room. The onsen at the hotel is better than most of the public ones in town. The free massage chairs and foot vibration machines were awesome. Highly recommended!"
