"The apartment was dirty and dusty. We were 3 people and didn’t get the 2 bedroom apartment because we wanted the one that had the private hot tub in the balcony which only had one bedroom and when we got in the place to be able to relax the hot tub was dirty and broken and I told them and they wouldn’t send anybody to come fix it. Also the dishes were dirty and the sink in the kitchen barely had water to wash dishes, the water in the shower was like salt water terrible, and no where to find...

Note that the area on the beach strip is very expensive dinning and limited transportation options that don’t break the bank! Bike rentals are you best option but even on the beach front road you have to pay to park your bike for dinner."

"We had an incredible stay at Papaya Playa! All of the staff were friendly and helpful and accessible whenever we needed anything or had any questions and provided a lot of good recommendations to us. It was easy to be able to chat via WhatsApp’s with the front desk for questions and to arrange whatever we needed. The hotel was able to arrange scooter and bike rentals and the hotel is right at the start of the hotel zone so Tulum Road was very accessible.
Our casita was beautiful and clean and well maintained and we loved having our own private pool with ocean views. The party on Saturday was one of our favorite things we got to experience and it was nice having it be so accessible. The restaurant had amazing food and we looked forward to having breakfast every day! The included breakfast had several good options to choose from and the food was always so fresh and delicious.
The only downside was the seaweed season and not being able to thoroughly enjoy the beach, which was happening at most hotels and areas along the hotel zone and you could tell the hotel still tried to make the most of it not being as appealing. We definitely want to come back to Papaya during the busier season when the water is clear and we can thoroughly enjoy the beach club amenities. Overall was a great stay and enjoyable experience, would definitely recommend this hotel to make your time in Tulum unforgettable."

"We had the most incredible honeymoon at Maria Del Mar! Our concierge Santiago helped us to create an amazing itinerary and adapted for us as we made changes! They also recommended a wonderful taxi driver, Armando, who graciously took us to each excursion and offered expert advice to help us enjoy as much as possible :) Edgar, Enrique, and Sergio at the front desk were always ready to chat and help if needed.
