"What a great experience. Naala is exactly what it advertises itself as - a 3.5 star hotel with some blemishes but an eagerness to succeed. When we go back to Tulum we will stay at Naala again! The hotel is tucked back off the road. The outdoor lobby is quite welcoming but does show some wear but the front desk service was professional. The courtyard was so relaxing - while you can hear the music from the rooftop, the hammocks and waterfalls make it a perfect place to chill before or after your day. We splurged on the "family apartment" as it was not that much more than a single room and gave us a huge amount of space. The patios and balconies are a little light on furniture, so glad for the courtyard. Room was clean, beds were wickedly comfortable and showers were strong. We felt safe. There are some good restaurants within 100 yards and downtown is only a 20-minute walk but the best meals we had on our trip were at the Naala rooftop restaurant. Highly recommend. Reasonably priced as well. Salmon was perfect. Breakfast farmers omelet (I got well done) was fantastic. Smoothie was nice - they use ice and agave nectar (order accordingly). Order a drink from the restaurant and bring it to the rooftop pool - plenty of seating. The best part of the roof is the unobstructed view (think sunrise and sunset). You can see the Tulum heritage site and the ocean from the roof. As the hotel does not supply extra water, we were very happy to find an Oxxo and a 7-eleven only steps away"

"This is great place to meet people, it is part hotel with private rooms and also a hostel with dorms. It is also a party atmosphere until about 1a.m most nights, with themes. "

"The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready with recommendations for local spots. They also helped organize and recommended activities which added to the whole experience. The on-site restaurant served delicious, locally inspired meals; breakfast with fresh fruits and tropical juices was a highlight. If you're looking to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature, this hotel is a gem. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone craving a tranquil, authentic jungle experience!""

"The service was amazing, the staff was great, but the overall condition of the hotel was far from the photo’s online. The property is considerably older than the photos show. Our room had an extremely foul stale water odor that remained the entire three night stay despite multiple attempts from the maintenance and management to remove. After night one we discovered that it was due to a clog in the shower. The water in the main bedroom shower drained so slowly that it rose so high that it nearly flooded the bathroom. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms to move to during this time, which is very unfortunate because the staff was great. The pool was so filthy and had so much mildew that my son and I couldn’t even take a swim. The photo’s definitely do NOT depict the pool how it truly is. "
